How ATM Shipping Works

ATMs are large, heavy equipment — typically 150–400 lbs — and require specialized freight handling. Here is what every order goes through from the time you buy to the time it arrives.

📦
Step 1 — Order Processing

After payment is confirmed, your order enters our processing queue. Orders are processed and released to our freight partner within 2–3 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding federal holidays).

🚛
Step 2 — LTL Freight Transit

Your ATM ships via a national LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight carrier on a secured pallet. Estimated transit is 3–7 business days depending on your distance from our distribution hub in the Southwest.

🏠
Step 3 — Liftgate Delivery

The freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. A liftgate truck lowers the pallet to street level. You or a representative must be present to receive, inspect, and sign for the shipment.

Shipping Coverage

Continental United States: Free LTL freight shipping is included on all ATM orders shipped within the 48 contiguous states.

Alaska & Hawaii: Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is available but is not included in the standard purchase price. Contact us before placing your order for a freight quote to your location.

US Territories & International: We do not currently ship to US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, USVI) or international addresses. All orders must ship to a physical street address — we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes.

Order Processing Time

Orders are processed Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM MST. Orders placed after 2 PM MST on a business day, or on a weekend or federal holiday, begin processing the next business day.

Standard processing is 2–3 business days after payment is confirmed. Some models may require additional lead time if the unit is being sourced directly from the manufacturer or requires pre-shipment configuration. If this applies to your order, we will notify you by email within one business day of purchase.

Estimated Transit Time

Once your ATM ships, estimated LTL freight transit time is 3–7 business days for most continental US destinations. Transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed by Fort Yuma ATM or the freight carrier. Factors such as weather, carrier capacity, and remote delivery locations may extend transit time.

Total estimated time from order to delivery: 5–10 business days for most orders.

Delivery Service — What Is & Is Not Included

Included with every shipment:

  • Liftgate service — the freight carrier lowers the pallet to ground level at the curb or driveway
  • Delivery appointment call — the carrier will call you 24–48 hours in advance to schedule a delivery window
  • Freight tracking number — emailed when the order ships

Not included (available as paid add-ons through the freight carrier):

  • Inside delivery — placement beyond the threshold or first dry area
  • Stair carry — units cannot be moved up or down stairs without specialized equipment
  • Unpacking or debris removal
  • Installation, programming, or network setup (see our ATM Service page for setup support)

You are responsible for having adequate equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, or similar) and personnel on-site to move the unit from the delivery point to its final install location.

⚠ Critical: Inspect Your Shipment Before Signing

ATMs ship as freight, and freight damage claims are governed by the carrier receipt. If you sign without noting damage, you may waive your right to file a claim. 99% of deliveries arrive in perfect condition — the steps below are for the rare case they don't.

Step 1 — Inspect the Outer Box

  • Examine the exterior of the cardboard box for any visible damage.
  • Check the color tip meter (Red/Green) on the side of the box. If it reads Red, the package may have been tipped or fallen during transit.
  • A Red tip meter without any physical damage likely means it was tipped on a dolly during loading — this does not usually damage the machine, but still note it and take a photo.

Step 2 — Sign With a Note If Needed

When signing the freight receipt, include the date and time next to your signature. If you see damage or a Red tip meter, write one of the following on the delivery paperwork and take photos before signing:

  • "The ATM box arrived with physical damage. The ATM needs to be inspected for further damage."
  • "The ATM box was not damaged, but the Tip Meter indicator was Red. ATM needs to be inspected for any potential damage."

Step 3 — Badly Damaged Boxes: Refuse Delivery

If the box is badly crushed, has holes, or shows damage suggesting the ATM may not be in good condition — take several clear photographs and deny delivery. Do not refuse delivery without clear photos as proof of damage. We want to make sure you receive your ATM in perfect condition.

Questions about your delivery? Contact the freight carrier directly at (310) 343-6200 to schedule or check on your delivery appointment. Or reach us at (623) 303-9214 if you have concerns.

Order Tracking

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a PRO number (freight tracking number) once your order leaves our facility. Use this number to track your shipment directly on the carrier's website or call us and we'll look it up for you.

The carrier will contact you using the phone number provided at checkout to schedule your delivery appointment. Make sure your contact information is accurate — missed appointment windows may result in redelivery fees charged by the carrier.

Returns & Order Changes

Pre-shipment cancellations: Orders may be cancelled for a full refund before they are released to freight. Contact us immediately if you need to change or cancel your order. Once a shipment has been picked up by the carrier, it cannot be recalled without incurring freight return fees.

Post-delivery returns: Due to the nature of commercial ATM equipment, we do not accept returns on units that have been received undamaged and in working condition. All sales are final once the unit is delivered and signed for without damage noted.

Defective on arrival (DOA): If your unit does not power on or has a hardware defect that is not related to shipping damage, contact us within 5 business days of delivery. We will coordinate with the manufacturer for warranty service or replacement at no cost to you.

Refused shipments: If a delivery is refused without prior authorization from Fort Yuma ATM, the buyer is responsible for all freight return charges and a restocking fee of up to 20% of the purchase price.

Warranty

All new ATMs sold by Fort Yuma ATM include the manufacturer's standard warranty (typically 1 year parts and labor on Genmega and Hyosung units). Warranty service is provided through the manufacturer's authorized service network. This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, power surge, vandalism, or unauthorized modifications.

Refurbished and certified pre-owned ATMs carry a 90-day limited warranty. Details are included in your order confirmation.
